We had recently seen Carina Round open for and sing with Puscifer at the Escondido Center for the Arts. She added a beautiful element to the Puscifer show but her performance beforehand with her band was so kick ass. In addition to her strong and lovely vocals and guitar strumming, she kicked up and back, spit and filled the stage with her bold persona. When we noticed that she was playing at the Casbah we knew we had to go see her again.
The Casbah is such an intimate venue you quite often feel a sense of sharing some sort of special creative space with the artist on stage and this was a clear example of that. Carina and the band put on a great show, filled with rockin’ songs and humor. It was the kind of show that as I was leaving I felt I could go see again the next night.
The unique local artist Kelsea Little opened the show singing and plucking her harp with her band.
